InspectionWare Release Build: Version 12.516.0 (64 bit)

Latest Release Notes

Build Note:

TFM Reflector Response and TFM Window Coverage now live in the Total Focuser's Internal Sequence, beside the travel time maps, and are recomputed once after each compile of the focuser instead of with every frame. A workspace saved with them directly under the focuser moves them there when it loads, so anything that names them by path must be updated.

New Features:

(1) Added TFM Reflector Response.Wedge Attenuation, and TFM Reflector Response.Material Attenuation now applies along the path in the part only.

(2) TFM Reflector Response now spreads each leg's amplitude as its ray does through the wedge and the part: in the imaging plane only for a Side Drilled Hole or a planar defect whose new Defect Extent is Long, and in both planes for a Spherical reflector or a Compact planar defect.

(3) Added Match Percent to Property Set Repo.Add Branch Property Set(), the percentage of sampled objects that must share a value for it to be kept.

(4) Added TFM Reflector Response and TFM Window Coverage tasks to Total Focuser, which add each node to the focuser's Internal Sequence.

(5) Added On to Probe Plane to C Scan Renderer.Mapping Mode: an output of a Total Focuser, or of a node under one such as a TFM Reflector Response, dropped on a Simulation is drawn in the simulated probe's plane inside the part, beside the ray tracing, and moves with the probe.

(6) Added Ray Traced Element Times Map, which fills the Time, Amplitude, Direction and Phase outputs of an Element Travel Time Map from the rays a Simulation traces from a simulated phased array.

(7) Added Total Focuser.Ray Traced Maps and TFM Reflector Response.Leg Amplitudes: with For Readers and From Ray Maps, the Reflector Response takes its leg amplitudes and directions from rays traced in the Simulation and follows the simulated probe as it moves.

(8) Added the -Background command line option, which keeps the InspectionWare windows behind the windows of other applications and stops InspectionWare from taking the focus until you switch to it, so automated tests can run on a computer someone is using.

(9) The MCP Server's iw_ui_getScreenshot tool now captures a user interface even when other windows cover it.

(10) Added Beam Field, which shows where a phased-array beam's element waves add up in the probe's plane, from the times, amplitudes and phases of an Element Travel Time Map or a Ray Traced Element Times Map, for one beam or as coverage over the whole sweep.

(11) Added HAZ Direction property to Weld Profile.

(12) Added Default Segment property to Build String.

(13) Added Reverse Point Order task to Point Cloud and Point Sources.

(14) Added transparency to Navigation Tree icons.

(15) Added Fuse Views setup task to Total Focuser, which adds a Multiple Source Data Fusion that fuses the focuser's enabled outputs into one image.

(16) Added Geometric Mean and Geometric Mean Of Best K to Multiple Source Data Fusion.Data Fusion Method, which keep only what the sources agree on while keeping their units and range.

Bug Fixes:

(1) Fixed a bug where dropping a property on a Property Set Repo replaced the matching set instead of adding to it.

(2) The element directivity in Element Travel Time Map's Amplitude output now uses the probe's frequency instead of always 5 MHz and, for a wedge or immersion probe, the wavelength in the wedge or water instead of in the part, which changes Total Focuser and SAFT2 images with Apply Weighting on, TFM Reflector Response and TFM Window Coverage.

(3) Fixed SAFT with Weight By set to Beam weighting its contributions by a wrong element directivity: the angle off the beam mixed degrees with radians and was flipped in sign for part of the image, and the wavelength was taken in the part instead of in the wedge or water, so SAFT images with Weight By set to Beam change.

(4) Fixed a TFM Reflector Response, or any other output never shown in a plot, drawing in one flat colour when dropped on a Simulation with Mapping Mode On to Probe Plane.

(5) TFM Reflector Response and TFM Window Coverage now fill every scan plane of a Total Focuser output that has a scan axis, such as a focused recorded sweep; before, only the first plane was right.

(6) Total Focuser.Calibrate Sensitivity(), Total Focuser.Calibrate Velocity(), Total Focuser.Calibrate Wall Thickness() and Total Focuser.Optimize Plane Wave Sweep() no longer delete an equation on Total Focuser.Output Type or Total Focuser.Envelope Weighting.

(7) Fixed IW.Types.Processor raising an error in C Sharp code instead of returning the Processor type name.

(8) Fixed ES Beam Tool.Copy To Probe Configuration() leaving the target's channels at their old Index Axis Offset and Scan Axis Offset, so the Total Focuser and the simulated probe placed the probe at different positions.

(9) Fixed Data Fusion 2D failing to execute, leaving its outputs and every node below it frozen or undefined, while a reference it had turned off with Reference 1 Enabled or Reference 2 Enabled was not compiled.

(10) Fixed a processor ignoring a change to one of its Subset Rules made from an Edit, Combo or Check Box whose Array Edit Mode is Selected Element, such as a Total Focuser's Ascan Trim Delay on the Imaging Calibration page, until the processor was next compiled.

(11) Fixed the Simulation applying only 87Overview This document contains a downloadable Windows installer for InspectionWare as well as the release notes covering the current version. Software requirements Operating system: Windows 10 or 11. The latest Windows updates must be installed. InspectionWare 12 ships as a 64-bit application. 32-bit builds are produced only occasionally. .NET Framework 4.8 or later is required. If it is not already installed, click here to download and install it. Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (2015–2022, v14x) is required by the optional neural network tools. Download: x64 Redistributable · x86 Redistributable. Hardware requirements CPU: A processor supporting the AVX2 instruction set is required. This includes 2013-or-later Intel processors and 2015-or-later AMD processors. (List of supported CPUs.) InspectionWare will not install or run on a CPU without AVX2. GPU (optional, for accelerated processing): InspectionWare provides two GPU acceleration backends: DirectX — any GPU supporting DirectX 11 (feature level 11_0) or later, from AMD, Intel, or NVIDIA. A CPU-based software fallback (WARP) is also available when no compatible GPU is present. CUDA — an NVIDIA GPU with architecture ≥ Turing (e.g. RTX 2060, Quadro RTX, T4) and NVIDIA driver ≥ 576.02. NVIDIA GPUs older than Turing (e.g. Pascal / GTX 10-series) are not supported by the CUDA backend.
