InspectionWare Release Build: Version 12.511.0 (64 bit)

Latest Release Notes

Build Note:

Added Include Children parameter to Part's Get Boundary task.

New Features:

(1) With a CUDA GPU, processing during a scan no longer waits for GPU work from other processing in InspectionWare to finish.

(2) Workspace Library.Rebuild List() now keeps a workspace whose archive was moved or removed on the server while it is checked out or its local copy is writable, and names every one it kept in a single message.

(3) Added Fail If Method Throws property to User Defined Node, C Sharp Device and User Defined Object Extender, which makes a method task fail when its C# method throws an exception.

(4) Added Show Task Calls and Update Task Calls tasks to C Sharp Compiler, which list the task calls whose arguments no longer line up with the parameters of the task and rewrite them to pass their arguments by name.

(5) C Sharp Compiler now warns when C# code calls a task with more arguments than the task takes, or with an argument its parameter cannot hold, such as text where a number is wanted, and C Sharp Compiler.Show Task Calls() also lists calls that pass too few arguments.

(6) C Sharp Compiler now warns when its code calls a task with a ref argument that lands on a parameter which returns nothing, as happens when the task has gained a parameter since the code was written.

(7) Objects now report the interProcess, rpc, control, test and fileIo roles, so searches and MCP tools can find the nodes that talk to other programs, use RPC messaging, draw on a page, test the workspace or read and write files.

(8) Holding Alt while right-clicking the control hosted by a User Defined Ctrl now opens the User Defined Ctrl's task menu without entering design mode. This works in InspectionWare mode only, never in product mode.

(9) Added TD Focus A Scans.Idle Acquisition Rate, which sets how many acquisitions per second the instrument sends when Idle Mode is Streaming.

(10) Added Build As parameter to Configure From Weld Profile task on Rotated and Extruded with options Piece, Weld, Top Cap, or Bottom Cap.

(11) Added Cap Offset properties to Weld Profile Builder.

(12) Probes of a Dual Wedge Builder configuration can be siblings or one contained by the other.

Bug Fixes:

(1) Fixed InspectionWare crashing when GPU.GPU Adapter was changed while GPU.Backend was None.

(2) Fixed InspectionWare sometimes crashing when GPU.Backend or GPU.GPU Adapter was changed while acquisition was processing data on the GPU.

(3) Fixed GPU processing not working when GPU.GPU Adapter named an adapter the selected GPU.Backend does not offer, such as the DirectX software adapter after switching to CUDA. The adapter with the most memory is now used, as with Auto.

(4) Fixed GPU processing during a scan running on the wrong graphics card, and failing or corrupting its results, on a computer with more than one NVIDIA graphics card when GPU.GPU Adapter selects a card other than the first.

(5) Fixed Workspace Library.Get All Workspaces() asking about a newer local version for every workspace whose archive had been moved or removed on the server. It now rebuilds the list from the server before fetching.

(6) Fixed User Defined Node.Call Method() reporting that the method was not found when the method threw an exception.

(7) Fixed Problems List not being available in the Toolbox or on the Workspace Manager's Add menu.

(8) Fixed Conditional Execute and Execute From Menu sometimes leaving behind nodes on cases that no longer exist, or crashing while removing them, after the number of cases was reduced.

(9) Fixed TD Focus A Scans collecting no live data when TD Focus A Scans.Idle Mode is Streaming.

(10) Fixed TD Focus often failing to reconnect after a disconnect until the instrument was power cycled. A Connect made while the instrument restarts now waits for TD Focus.Restart Time and completes by itself.

Overview

This document contains a downloadable Windows installer for InspectionWare as well as the release notes covering the current version.

Software requirements

  • Operating system: Windows 10 or 11. The latest Windows updates must be installed.
  • InspectionWare 12 ships as a 64-bit application. 32-bit builds are produced only occasionally.
  • .NET Framework 4.8 or later is required. If it is not already installed, click here to download and install it.

Hardware requirements
  • CPU: A processor supporting the AVX2 instruction set is required. This includes 2013-or-later Intel processors and 2015-or-later AMD processors. (List of supported CPUs.) InspectionWare will not install or run on a CPU without AVX2.
  • GPU (optional, for accelerated processing): InspectionWare provides two GPU acceleration backends:
    • DirectX — any GPU supporting DirectX 11 (feature level 11_0) or later, from AMD, Intel, or NVIDIA. A CPU-based software fallback (WARP) is also available when no compatible GPU is present.
    • CUDA — an NVIDIA GPU with architecture ≥ Turing (e.g. RTX 2060, Quadro RTX, T4) and NVIDIA driver ≥ 576.02. NVIDIA GPUs older than Turing (e.g. Pascal / GTX 10-series) are not supported by the CUDA backend.
