InspectionWare Release Build: Version 12.500.0 (64 bit)

Latest Release Notes

Build Note:

Removed Property List.Get Show Hide Properties From Object; show and hide lists now come from a Product Mode Operations object on the source node, and old workspaces are upgraded automatically.

New Features:

(1) Added DICOM File Converter.Add Annotations Tag(), which writes the displayed annotations into the DICOM Data without exporting the file.

(2) Added Find By Search Spec task to Find Nodes, which finds objects with a single search specification instead of separate filter parameters.

(3) Search specifications can now test equations, recorded compile and execute failures, global exposure and mentions of a path, and can bound a fuzzy match to a letter distance.

(4) Improved pane resizing behavior and visual stability in split views.

(5) Added Compare Branches integration to Archives provider.

(6) Added Product Mode Operations, an object dropped on a node to control which tasks and properties operators see in product mode and to offer Add and Remove menus fed from a toolbox folder.

(7) Added an FMC and TFM folder to the Processors Toolbox that gathers the full matrix capture and total focusing tools, along with the travel time maps they need, in one place.

(8) Improved CDataLoop windowing and line skipping; added skipped line reporting.

(9) Added Finger Print Should Be.Tolerance Mode and Parameter Set Should Be.Tolerance Mode, so Tolerance can be read as a fraction of the value being compared instead of as an absolute difference, which keeps one tolerance meaningful across values of very different sizes.

(10) Added Compare Branches.Compare Properties, a choice of All, Common or None that limits a comparison to the properties users commonly put on screen.

(11) Added Stash Backup task to Workspace Libraries, which loads one of the workspace's automatic backups into the Version Stash.

(12) Compare Branches now reports its differences as a table, and draws the objects that differ beneath it in a node tree.

(13) The Version Stash folder now holds a Drop To Compare script that compares whatever object it is dropped on against the stashed copy.

(14) Added Rebuild task to Beam Tool Control, together with a Beam Tool Exited control event, so a workspace can reload the Beam Tool view after Beam Tool closes itself.

(15) Beam Tool Control now reports problems in Beam Tool's own error window instead of a generic error message.

(16) Beam Tool Control now supports ES Beam Tool 11.1.

(17) Added revert, undo, and redo for Compare Branches differences.

(18) Added a new "Write Text" task to CDataModifier, allowing users to render a line of text into a selected region of data by setting points covered by the text to a specified value. This includes updates to DataConstants.h (added gszWriteText), DataModifier.cpp (task documentation, task registration, parameter handling, execution logic, and the WriteText implementation), and DataModifier.h (added WriteText method declaration). The WriteText task stretches the text to fill the region, writes it upright for plotting, and supports both axes and complex data.

(19) Added Published Object workspace node.

(20) Added support for TVGCurve parameter sets representing points in time, path, and depth units.

(21) Comma separated list properties now open in the Edit Property editor with one entry per line, so entries are added, removed and reordered as plain text lines.

(22) Variables Array.Define Variable Choices() now fills a column's list from any object's property, not just from the rows of a Data Table or another Variables Array.

(23) Added Grouped Controls.Add Property Controls, which lists every property of the Source Object with a switch saying whether the group shows it, so a whole panel is settled in one dialog: switching one on adds its control with the label and units, and switching one off takes them away again, along with the row left empty behind them.

(24) Added Grouped Controls.Source Object, which connects the group to the object whose settings it shows, so the link follows that object when it is renamed or moved.

(25) Fill With Common Properties now connects the object it built the panel from, and connects each column of a banded panel, instead of recording that object in the group's Remark.

(26) Finger Print Should Be.Tolerance Mode and Parameter Set Should Be.Tolerance Mode now compare whole numbers such as point counts and axis counts absolutely, so Relative never accepts a change in data shape.

Bug Fixes:

(1) Fixed On File Event missing a change made just after Start Monitoring, or made while another node started monitoring a different folder.

(2) Fixed On File Event reporting the wrong file in Modified File after a change it did not act on, such as one made in a subfolder.

(3) Fixed a crash when a ranked search walked up through the containers above an object.

(4) Fixed memory corruption when a Sweep Correction or Disk Scan Correction remap was built for larger data axes than its output data holds.

(5) Fixed Total Focuser producing an incorrect image when Total Focuser.Output Type is NSI.

(6) Fixed Total Focuser results depending on the previous Total Focuser.Output Caching value instead of the current one.

(7) Fixed ZMQ socket devices, including the ZMQ Msg Router, not connecting when loaded from a command-line add-in.

(8) Fixed a crash while compiling equations when the compilation added an object or connection, such as when running FMC ROI Trim.Link Focuser().

(9) Fixed FMC Health Check failing to find the beam set when it is fed data through a Processor Package, reporting that the A-scans are not a dense square matrix.

(10) Fixed a crash when add-ins were unloaded while a workspace was loading.

(11) Fixed deleting an On Control Event from a User Interface closing one of its Tab Pages.

(12) Fixed Execute Object Script.Execute On set to Drop Sites refusing every drop site except Custom Controls and Sequences.

(13) Fixed Beam Tool Control drawing a blank area instead of the Beam Tool view, and the view staying on screen after its User Interface was closed.

(14) Fixed Cluster.Length X Over Threshold and Cluster.Length Y Over Threshold starting at unpredictable values.

(15) Fixed UT Gate.Interpolate TOF starting at an unpredictable value on a newly created gate.

(16) Fixed semicolon separated list properties, such as Edit Pixels 1D.Erase, splitting on commas in the table editor.

(17) Fixed Variables Array.Define Variable Choices() reporting success when it had made no change.

(18) Fixed a crash when choosing or dropping the object that an Execute Task, Button or Check Box runs its task on.

(19) Fixed a crash in UT Beam Set.Annular Array Focus() when no Probe Configuration could be found.

(20) Fixed the UT Beam Set beam and sweep configuration tasks, such as Azimuthal Sweep(), Linear Sweep() and Full Matrix Capture(), reporting success when they had failed. They now give the reason, such as the probe configuration not being a phased array.

(21) Fixed Parameter Set Should Be ignoring Tolerance when a recorded value's type changed, which happens after a workspace is saved and reloaded.

Overview

This document contains a downloadable Windows installer for InspectionWare as well as the release notes covering the current version.

Software requirements

  • Operating system: Windows 10 or 11. The latest Windows updates must be installed.
  • InspectionWare 12 ships as a 64-bit application. 32-bit builds are produced only occasionally.
  • .NET Framework 4.8 or later is required. If it is not already installed, click here to download and install it.

Hardware requirements
  • CPU: A processor supporting the AVX2 instruction set is required. This includes 2013-or-later Intel processors and 2015-or-later AMD processors. (List of supported CPUs.) InspectionWare will not install or run on a CPU without AVX2.
  • GPU (optional, for accelerated processing): InspectionWare provides two GPU acceleration backends:
    • DirectX — any GPU supporting DirectX 11 (feature level 11_0) or later, from AMD, Intel, or NVIDIA. A CPU-based software fallback (WARP) is also available when no compatible GPU is present.
    • CUDA — an NVIDIA GPU with architecture ≥ Turing (e.g. RTX 2060, Quadro RTX, T4) and NVIDIA driver ≥ 576.02. NVIDIA GPUs older than Turing (e.g. Pascal / GTX 10-series) are not supported by the CUDA backend.
